Our Worship

Our worship at Saint Michael's is focused on God, not on our own enjoyment, fulfillment, or fellowship.  We come into His presence with thanksgiving and with a sense of awe and reverence, aware of our sinfulness and His abiding love and great mercy.  We seek forgiveness and rejoice in the great gift of salvation so freely given.  Anglican worship is filled with repentance, gratitude and unending praise.

We try, as best we can, to make our worship beautiful.  Scripture shows us that God's design for worship in the Old Testament (Exodus 25, 26) included gold, silver, precious stones, with curtains of fine woven linen, and blue, purple and scarlet thread; with artistic designs of cherubim cunningly woven in them, with incense, and bells, and antointing oil.

Likewise, in Saint John's vision of heavenly worship (Revelation 4) we find precious stones, thrones, golden crowns, white robes, crystal and incense.

From the beginning to the end of Scripture, the example we find is worship offered with as much beauty as possible.  While our parish finances may afford us only humble and simple appointments, our hearts come to Christ seeking to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth and in the beauty of Holiness.

As the only Reformed Episcopal Church in our area, our services have been planned to meet the various needs and traditions of our parishioners.  The use of the 1662 edition of the Book of Common Prayer, is a valuable aid in uniting us, in spite of our varying degrees of individual churchmanship, and serves as a guardian of  our orthodoxy.

If you are from this area and are looking for a church home, we hope you will prayerfully consider becoming a member of our Parish Family.
