Parish Life

"O Lord, let us do all the good we can, in all the ways we can, by all the means we can, in all the places we can, at all the times we can, to all the people we can, as long as we . . . ever can."
John Wesley

At Saint Michael's there are many opportunities from which to choose a personal ministry within the Body of Christ.  The following is a brief descriptive list of the various outreach ministries at Saint Michael's.

Second Sunday
One of the best things about Saint Michael's is that we are a family of all ages - older, younger, all in it together and mindful of the needs of others.  On the Second Sunday of each month, the Rev. Robert Ahrens provides a service at the Tulsa Nursing Center.

Glastonbury Studies Group is, in many ways, A Lay School of Theology.  It exists for the purpose of teaching the Christian Faith, from the Anglican perspective to the laity of the parish, in order to prepare them for confirmation and, ultimately, for the work of ministry and service within the Church of Jesus Christ.  Among the courses to be offered are, Anglicanism, Patristics, Liturgics, 39 Articles of Religion.

Women of the Church
The Women of the Church collect items for personal hygiene, blankets, linens and clothing for developmentally disabled residents of selected group homes, Gather food items and toiletries for Broken Arrow Neighbors, and monetary donations for such organizations as the Little Light House and Mend Crisis Center.

Popcorn and Theology
Is a monthly program that focuses on the God moments contained in the story line of a feature length motion picture, such as The Conflict, Charly, and Luther, served up with popcorn and sodas.
